Hosted Phone System

A hosted phone system for your office or home business comes primarily in two telephone forms: PBX and VoIP.

Adding a hosted phone system to your business can be one of the best possible investments that you can make.  Not only are they ideal for providing you with absolutely top phone service, but they also enable a small to medium sized company to have a top quality phone system, without the huge associated cost.  This way, you can literally have a different phone number for every aspect of the company, whether for contacting individual people, or departments, for one conveniently low price.  All you have to do, is figure out the right configuration for your own hosted phone system, so that you can be sure you’ve got the perfect set up to run your business perfectly.

The way that a hosted phone system works, is by using VoIP or PBX technology to actually deliver your phone service over a cable internet connection.  This way, you install special phones throughout the building, that are actually connected to your computer network connection.  But all of the phones are hosted on your own local network, and can be assigned numbers so that each phone can be reached independently.  However, there is only one access point, so that you don’t have to pay a higher cost from your service provider, for each individual number that you have to have on the network.  This way, you really bring your costs down, and ensure that you’re able to afford unique and more effective phone service throughout the company.

However, you are going to need the hardware, as a hosted phone system can be much more costly to originally start, than other types of systems.  That means you’re going to need some supplies like PBX or VoIP phones, as well as network switches to connect to your internet connection.  You need special phones because they have to be capable of using Ethernet cables, instead of the standard phone connection.  Also, a network switch is essential, so that you can establish all of your phones on the same network, and ensure that every independent department is able to access the phone system at any time.

But you will also need a provider for your hosted phone system.  While you’ll be hosting the network locally in house, you still need that provider to ensure that you’re able to facilitate a phone connection in the first place.  That means you’re probably going to want to hunt down a few companies on the internet.  Through sites like Google or Bing you can find all the service providers for your area, and it’s just a matter of finding the one that’s most affordable for you  Just remember to ensure that you have both enough bandwidth, and reliable enough service for the volume of calls that you regularly expect.

For all other hardware concerns, you should be able to go to a store like Office Depot or Staples to find all the hosted phone system tools you could possibly need.  Whether you’re looking for phones, switches or software, they are set up to help every business with any type of task like this.  That means you’re guaranteed to have your hosted phone system off the ground, in as short a time as possible.
